Our private climbing courses are designed just for you and your group. You tell us when you would like to come, what you would like to do and what your previous experience is and we will create a course that is perfect for you.
We can run a rock climbing or scrambling course for you on a date of your choice. We have availability throughout the year so please get in touch and we can let you know which dates are available while you are in the Lake District.
Climbing is a great activity for the whole family or for a group of friends. Anyone with a sense of adventure can try climbing with us for the first time; you do not need any previous experience or special equipment. We have had children as young as four on our courses and retired people looking for new adventures. We can also cater for more experienced climbers who want to learn more: how to lead or how to perform a rescue on a multi-pitch crag for example.
Our bespoke courses are £220/day which is the price for the whole group. The number of participants that each instructor can take will depend on type of climbing you want to do but, for example, if you are all pretty new to climbing and would like to try climbing on rock for the first time then one instructor could take six people so your day would work out at just over £36 each.
We can also offer a half day session for £150. If you have particularly young children then often a half day is just the right length for them.
Our courses are usually based in Langdale, near Ambleside but if you are staying in a different part of the Lake District do get in touch because we might be able to recommend a suitable venue that is more convenient for you.
Usually up to six. The number of customers one instructor can safely look after depends on the type of climbing you would like to do. We also try to keep our group sizes as small as possible so everyone gets plenty of opportunity to join in and no-one is left standing around waiting. For single pitch climbing (which is usually what you start out with as a beginner) one instructor can take from one to six people. If your group is larger than six do let us know and we can let you know the options available to you. Multi-pitch climbing is usually a ratio of one instructor to two customers.
You do not need any specialist equipment. We recommend you bring: Enough clothes to keep you warm and dry in all weathers, food and drinks.
We provide climbing harnesses, helmets, ropes, hardware and climbing shoes. All of this is included in the cost and there are no hidden charges.
Dates available throughout the year.
Our prices are for the whole group (not per person).
